Finding God's comfort in the midst of prolonged suffering . . .
Welcome
If you are undergoing a period of prolonged suffering, then you well know the toll that it can take on one's mental, emotional and spiritual well-being. For several years I endured an undiagnosed medical problem that, at times, threatened to undermine everything I believed about a loving God. Yet, even in the depth of the darkness, God's grace sustained me and eventually raised to rejoice in life once again. He is willing to do the same for you!
My prayer is that this website will offer you empathy, comfort and hope for the battle.
After a string of personal tragedies and too many relationships gone sour, Katie Cross has lost hope of ever finding Mr. Right. But on a weekend getaway to Nantucket Island, an unexpected encounter with handsome Frank O’Neil draws Katie into a romance beyond her wildest dreams. His sage-like wisdom and deep devotion to God make Frank the caliber of man she’s always longed for. But one stumbling block emerges with the potential to destroy her lifelong dream—Frank's commitment to purity.
Challenged to the core, Katie must decide whether she will embrace a relationship based on godly principles, or cling to a broken past and forsake the gift of true love.
AN OLD-FASHIONED LOVE
Emily Anderson is desperately searching for fulfillment. A strained relationship with her mother, a fruitless church ministry, and the pending death of an unsaved loved one drive her to the edge of an emotional breakdown. At the height of misery her life collides with an unimaginable fate, testing her faith in God beyond limits.
Soul Cry is the story of every Christian's deepest fear and the discovery of God's greatest promise—to never forsake His children.
"The Bible supplies no systematic answers to the "Why?" questions and often avoids them entirely...Divine providence is a mystery that only God understands, and belongs in what I have called 'The Encyclopedia of Theological Ignorance' for a simple reason: no time-bound human, living on a rebellious planet, blind to the realities of the unseen world, has the ability to comprehend such answers--God's reply to Job in a nutshell." --Philip Yancy in "Reaching for the Invisible God."
REACHING FOR THE INVISIBLE GOD
Quote-Warren Wiersbe
"When you and I hurt deeply, what we really need is not an explanation from God, but a revelation of God. We need to see how great God is; we need to recover our lost perspective on life. Things get out of proportion when we are suffering, and it takes a vision of something bigger than ourselves to get life's dimensions adjusted again." --Warren W. Wiersbe
Quote-Andrew Murray
"Faith in God is an act of the spiritual life. It is Christ who is our life and who imparts faith to us. He does this, however, not as an act or gift separate from Himself. It is in fellowship with Him that faith is active. He is 'the author and finisher of faith.'" -Andrew Murray in "The Blood of the Cross."
